Can I day trade stocks without 25k?
Asked 4 years ago
This seems like a large amount of money for someone just starting to trade. Do I have to have the 25K in my account available at all times? What happens if I trade and it dips below the margin requirement? Is there a way to get around the 25k day trading rule?

Yes, according to the PDT rule in the United States, you must keep a balance of 25k for day trading. If the minimum balance goes down below 25k, then your day trade can't go beyond three days in a time frame of five days.
There's only one other option available: You can open multiple brokerage accounts to continue day trading with less than 25k in your account.
