How do I screen potential stocks for day trading?
Asked 3 years ago
Is there a quick and easy way to screen and filter potential stocks for day trading? Is this something I have to do manually or are there free screeners that I can use?

Trending volatile stocks during the prior trading session or having the biggest percentage gains and losses will give you a good chance to make money. To find these hot picks, add a filter for volume to match what day traders lookout for—a minimum of one million shares traded daily!
FINVIZ is one of many free stock screener websites that allow you to search for "most volatile" or any other term. It's easy and quick, so set up your profile on FINVIZ today!
FINVIZ provides investors with real-time news about stocks in their portfolio based on technical analysis indicators like price movement relative Depth Chart Patterns Volatility. Traders should also check out Trading Analysis because they have both fundamental plus behavioral data available at all times while trading.
Now you can set the "Average Volume" filter to more than 1 million (Over 1M). If you want exclusion of ETFs, specify this in your Industry Filter. You will get many results and probably need an increased average volume level for a smaller list size!
