When you have $50,000 in your account that is disposable, you'll have a decent trading cushion. It enables you to accept a 1% or 2% loss of $500-$1,000 per trade.

Even with five daily transactions, your account is only at risk of $5,000 or 10% of its value. Five losing trades might be sufficient to keep your account viable; an account of a few hundred may not survive even one.
