What are the open hours of the forex market?

Is the forex market open 24 hours a day or does this depend on different international time zones? If so, how does this apply to me?

The foreign exchange market is open 24 hours per day, beginning from 5 p.m. EST on Sunday until 4 p.m. EST on Friday. Forex investing is also available on most U.S. holidays.
Forex is generally closed for most of the weekend.
You can trade forex throughout the entire 24-hour period because of international time zones.
Forex analysts note that the best time to trade forex is from 8 a.m. to noon since there is an overlap on the New York and London exchanges. This is why half of the trades occur during this period.
Essentially, you can trade any time you want.
