What are appreciating assets?

Are they any different from other stocks and how can I tell them apart quickly?

Real estate, stocks, and bonds are all appreciating assets. Currency is another name for money that's being devalued, so it doesn't really have the same value as in previous years when everything used to be worth a lot more than what people were willing or able to pay today!
