To add a price alert, click the "New" button at the top of the "Your Price Alerts" section. This will bring you to the Technical Alert Workbench, where you may start adding your first price alert.
To set up a price alert, all you have to do is fill in four fields:
- Choose your notification option first: email, SMS text message, or a website banner notification.
- Second, choose the symbol you'd want to be alerted about.
- Third, pick whether you want the sign to go above or below the price you've chosen. We'd probably select "Below" if we're searching for a pullback on our watchlist.
- Fourth, indicate where you want the symbol to cross over or below in terms of price. You may manually enter a price or use the "%" dropdown menu to the right and select an option such as "2% down." A price that is 2% less than the current one will be calculated for you automatically.
After you've finished setting up your alert the way you want it, simply click the green "Save Alert" button at the bottom of the workbench.
To go back to the Your Alerts page, click the "View All" button at the top of the workbench.
