Can I buy and sell through my TFSA?
Asked 4 years ago
I know the TFSA is a tax-free account, and for this reason, I am wondering if I can use it to trade with. Is it a good idea, or will there be a penalty? Also, are any gains in a TFSA considered as income?

If you buy and sell stocks using a TFSA, you should not participate in day trading or overly frequent trading. If you do so, the government may consider your trading activity a business and make you pay income tax on your trading activity. The CRA audit taxpayers who actively trade using a TFSA
A Tax-Free Savings Account (TFSA) allows your savings to grow tax-free. You can withdraw money at any time without paying tax on any gains you make from selling the stocks. You can make trades within your TFSA as often as you want without having to pay a capital gains tax.
