What is a stock rollover?
Asked 4 years ago
Hi, I'm relatively new to trading, and I'm wondering how a stock rollover works? Is it possible to lose money? TIA.

What is the definition of a rollover? A rollover is when you carry over your future positions from one series to the next, approaching expiration.
Traders have the option of letting a position lapse or entering into a comparable contract expiring at a later date on expiration. Futures only have rollovers, not options.
