What equation can I use to calculate the required margin for trading gold and silver?

Here is the formula for calculating the margin for gold and silver:
Lots * Contract Size * Market Price / Leverage.
This is important to remember after the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) reduced the margins for gold, silver, and other precious metals. Margins for gold were lowered 10% and silver declined 9.2%.
