Can you buy international stocks on Wealthsimple?

As a Canadian, can I invest in non-Canadian stocks through Wealthsimple? If so, how much would it cost me to do so?

The only non-Canadian stocks you can buy are securities listed on the New York Stock Exchange.
You cannot purchase, for instance, a company listed in the United Kingdom or South Africa, although you could acquire shares in an exchange-traded fund (ETF) that invests in these businesses.
Moreover, since Wealthsimple is a zero-commission trading platform, you do not pay for anything, except the conversion fee and any fees an ETF would charge clients.
